Phacelia in the Morning

in #phacelia6 years ago (edited)

Misty morning in the valley (south of Germany) with view on the field of Phacelia. The farmer grows that plant on a former wheat field to cover the soil until the next sowing in spring. The word Phacelia comes from the Greek word phakelos, means tuft. The plant is also commonly called Friend of the bees or Pasture of the bees. Early in the morning it is still too cold for them or there are not many around anymore. As the farmer is no conventional farmer he doesn't use herbicides and pesticides, and he loves diversity and gets some other plants thriving in the field.

Some minutes later the sun comes over the hills and sheds beautiful warm light over the valley.

Lovely photos! Looking like waking up from a dream! I hope there would be more bees this year.
