I do not doubt your best intentions regarding improving the performance of the Steemit.Inc UI, assuming anything else would be silly.
Unfortunatly the end user experience is rather the opposite, compared to the time before the DDoS attack.
Upvoting and resteeming is acting erratic, and slow if it works at all. Worse yet, commenting and submitting new posts does not seldom lead to a loss of the text, if no precautions were made before sending it off. That can be extremely frustrating.
I hope your monitoring does inform you about those facts.

I also strongly support the notion of some other comments here, that a better communication (or simple information) is essential to keep the confidence up among the users. And with that I mean more than a post every 3 weeks, especially in times of trouble like now.
It may appear as a unproductive use of work time, as it does not actually solve any problems - however, the faith of the community into the project is a asset you should not underestimate, in view of the future progress of Steemit.
