We were perfect

It has been a while since I last spoke to you, we did not have much words & the little words we had for each other wasn't worth much. I guess thats what happen when you try to be something you're not. We tried to be perfect. We were nothing close to perfect. But who is?
We fell inlove, fast, very fast. We tried to keep the pace but that was not the point. We should rather have tried te keep each other. Love each other & be there for each other. We had this image of what we should be & how we should be & it was anything except who we truly were. We were chasing perfection. Throughout this race we did a splendid job at breaking each other, hurting each other & losing each other.

We're nothing now but everytime I think back to what we was were I realise that we were our own perfection. Unique, something that no one else were but it was not good enough.
