Indian Railway Station : #peoplephotography Week-32 by @worldcapture
Indian Railway is one of the biggest railway network in the world. Every day millions of people travel from one destination to another. There are so many trains running between different cities and many railway station are built upon in between to carter the people's travelling need.
Railway Station a place where people board or deboard the trains. In India, one thing you always find common at every Railway station is the RUSH. People always are in rush to get on the Train. Be it Old, Young, and especially families. There is so much public noise in middle of the shunting railway engines. Recently while travelling, my train stop at a Railway Station, and suddenly I witness people started running here and there. It was complete Chaos.
Later ,I came to know there are many people who were coming from the Varanasi after taking the holy dip at Ganga on Full Moon Day. It is considered very auspicious to take the holy dip. And these rushing people were the localities who is now returning home.
The baton at each of the hand is to provide support in their walking. These old fellas love to visit such prilimage and finding difficulty in walking they took on the baton for support and in case required for other purpose.🙃
The typical tired look of the Indian women. They have complete faith in rituals and they can travel far off during such occassion. They are not afraid of running too. And while at station they not even forget to cover the head. A tradition that Indian Women's always comply
Do you know we have fruit vendors as well in Station. Selling their item at hot rate (more than market) their special services at important points. I have captured one too selling Guava.
Coming back to the rushing people, another important aspect is these travellers always carry a small baggage in hand. For sure they need to change their clothing. So a bag or make shift "Thaila" is popular.
And some carry bigger luggage as well. And that in their shoulder.
More interesting things about these travellers are that they do not carry any Tickets, neither they do have any reservation. Looking at mass of people even Railway Official hesitatant to ask for any tickets. They also know that these rush are due to the certain ceremony of religious function, so they avaoid to even ask or check them. People keep travelling free for shorter distance.
Though it is unlawful to travel without tickets but managing so much rush at ticket counter is always challenging. The ticket window unable to give tickets to all the people and these people were always in rush to board the train. Afterall train runs on specific timing.
Railway Station is always buzzing and you will notice it very colourful. People from all walk of life visit there nearest station once to travel somewhere. While sitting in the train, I made sure to capture all the colours and quite thrilled to see the chaos outside.
That is the view of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Indian Railway Station at 10 AM morning with so many people quite busy in making sure to board the right train. Sitting at window seat, I can able to capture at one angle using my Nokia5.1 smartphone Camera.

That does look a bit hectic, so basically if there is a rush for a train people ignore getting a ticket and get on? Do those fruit vendors have to pay to be in that prime spot? Or do they just pitch up and hope nobody moves them on? !COFFEEA 15

Few occassions ..especially during these month called "sawan" where many devotee would travel to nearest Ganga and made a footwalk to nearby Shiva temple...the rush is uncontrollable. So no one care to buy tickets except the regular visitors.....these fruit vendors have special licence to sell and they pay certain amount to railway.
