Beatrice witness proposal
Hello Peerplays, Hello Beatrice,
Over the last couple of months we've been keeping a close eye on Peerplays, BookiePro and all things BOS-* and have decided that we'd like to try and play a more active role in the community. In our case and given our background, the most appropriate way to do so would to be to launch a witness proposal.
We are however well aware of our limited experience with Graphene and the fact that we do not run witness nodes for other chains. We arrived at Peerplays purely out of interest for sports-betting and the benefits that BookiePro offers over traditional betting exchanges and its blockchain based competitors.
Therefore this witness application is solely for the upcoming Beatrice testnet. We'd like a chance to prove that we are able to put in the effort needed to become a reliable witness with an added value to Peerplays and can maintain an active presence in the community. Because of the 51% extra TEST tokens in the Beatrice genesis block, this decision will most likely be in the hands of pbsa and/or the current witnesses. In that regard this rather limited application is pointed at them rather than PPY holders in general.
A couple of things we've done so far:
- Ran nodes on Alice to learn the ropes
- Created a blockexplorer site for Baxter showing live bets and events
- Gathered statistics for the BookiePro world cup period. Example 1 Example 2
- Tracked down users who didn't exactly play fair in the Win-Real-BTC competition
- Messed up a node on more than one occasion
Server infrastructure:
This isn't something we'd like to focus on too much as servers can be added or upgraded quite easily. Please keep in mind the goal isn't to have a couple of set-and-forget machines running somewhere. It's to play an active and involved part in the future of BookiePro.
