How much did the military spend yesterday? $3.3 billion

Yesterday the Air Force awarded Boeing a $2.8 billion modification to an original contract for KC-46 tanker aircraft. It excercises an option for 18 more KC-46s, as well as spare engines, support equipment, and five wing refueling pod kits. The original contract was awarded to Boeing in 2011 for $4.4 billion.

The St. Louis branch of Boeing was awarded another contract yesterday worth $14 million for “Small Diameter Bomb I focused lethality munition production assets,” including GBU-39 A/B weapons and their storage containers.
