Meet a Couple of Friendly Redfish for @pifc week 24

in #payitforward6 years ago (edited)

@thedarkhorse's Pay it Forward Contest is in week 24 and going from strength. This week I'd like to put forward two people I've come to really enjoy interacting with.

First up is a photographer. He likes to experiment in different ways with his photography, but his photography alone is not what has kept me coming back to his page. What first drew me to him was a positive comment he made on a post saying that despite having very little attention on his posts he would just keep posting what he enjoyed and continue building his account.

He is always upbeat, and ready to leave comments and replies. In fact, he rather enjoys getting a good conversation going on in the comments section of his posts; so I know he'll enjoy anyone dropping in.

So please drop by and say hi to @cave-man. I particularly like this portrait photo, not just for the characterful photograph, but for the light hearted discussion in the comment section too!

My second, but by no means lesser, choice is a fellow South Australian. He is another who I can always count on to reply and comment, despite the fact that he is currently working two jobs! He posts about a variety of things, usually related to what he comes across in his local travels. He isn't afraid to be honest and put forward the unappealing with the appealing in the areas he visits.

So pleases drop by and visit @jordan.white306’s latest post. Don't be daunted by his long username, I'm sure we can just call him Jordan!

Ah bless you. You've summarised what I do far better than I ever could 😅 I worry about not having consistency on Steemit, but perhaps that's one thing I do do consistently: be candid and combine events to a wider message... at least I hope.

It still boggles my mind that a few people on this huge platform care about what I have to say! Thank you so much for always reading my stuff and engaging in intellectual, meaningful conversations with me.

I think just being yourself speaks volumes and attracts more attention than you expect. It's been fun connecting with you and I hope one day you'll be able to make a meetup.

Steem is beautiful because of people like you my friend.I love how you take your time every now and then to visit my posts and i love it. Thanks to you i am now 50+ rep and got 500 followers.

The discussion was quite fruitful for me to learn the ways of photography ethics. In country like ours and mostly in rural areas, people don't see DSLRs often and children and parents love having their photograph taken. It often seems that these things don't really matter. But surely i have now made a habit to ask before taking their photographs. I was quite naive to how people in other countries would feel about it and the discussion was amazing.

You've been a champion in taking all the comments in such a positive, learning manner. I can't say that I agreed with them all being brought up. Every country has different rules, laws and ethics and it's not our place to push our own laws and ethics onto others. As long as no harm is being done, who are we to judge the way others do things.

However, you are quite right that it isn't a bad thing to learn how other cultures work. It can help you to keep things friendly.

Will be sure to drop by. The @caveman profile does not seem to be correct

Oops, thank you!

I've visited both of your bloggers. Thanks for joining the contest!

Thanks for your entry. Both blogger have been upvoted.

Thank you, very much appreciated.

I visited and supported both of your featured authors. The first one actually does not meet the criteria in terms of length of post as condition on the contest but I just upvoted anyway. Maybe you need to reconsider this on your next entries. :)

👉👉Clarification for Quality Required for valid Entry👈👈
We are looking for Quality Original Content. We want to see no less then 200 words of original written content. So a single photo is fine as long as there is 200 words with it. 200 words is about 12 lines of content. Posts from Parley and dmania are not acceptable.

Sorry, I thought that referred to the curation post I was making.

Sad to think that quality would be decided on the amount of words and not the quality of the photographs and the strength of interaction.

Quality of photographs is essential, especially when it's a single image. But we're also looking for the extra effort necessary to make it an engaging post. I hate to think how many excellent pictures I've passed up when looking for my contest entry, but we really are looking for that extra mile. Sorry to disappoint.

I agree it is sometimes frustrating but I guess we need to circle back to the purpose of the contest. The PIFC is a curation contest and not a photography contest. I have seen photography contests that do not require too much wordings because from the contest perspective, a picture paints a thousand words. But then again, we are on a curation contest. :)

It is okay. There will be next time. :)

Thank you for your entry. I see @macoolette has already mentioned the fact that your first blogger doesn't actually meet the guidelines, but I still supported both of your bloggers. It's a hard thing to judge between entries as I get to do at the moment, that's one of the reasons guidelines are necessary. I look forward to your next entry, I know you will have a good one.

Hi I visited both your entries. Glad to see you doing the pay it forward.

Thank you. Appreciate it. Not sure if I'll continue though, as the rules kind of cause the exclusion of some potentially good people.

Dropping by and supporting your post. I visited and upvoted both of your entries into this week’s contest @minismallholding.

With very limited time and to avoid what happened to me last week, I wanted to be sure and take the first step in showing support, prior to the expiration of Steem’s 7-day limit for payouts. As time allows, I will try to get back to provide you more personalized input on your entries.

Thank you for your effort here in support of our growing PIFC Community!

Thank you. It's very much appreciated. You must have a lot to get through.
