Mint Enterprise Technology Summit 2018 - Bangalore, India

in #partiko6 years ago (edited)

On 27th of September I was invited to attend the Mint Enterprise Technology Summit in Bangalore. It was a great opportunity to network with key people from Indian IT and talk about blockchain technology and especially Steem!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Mint, its a top daily financial newspaper published by Hindustan Times Media which is one of the biggest news media publication companies in India.

My friend runs a top consulting firm in AI, Machine Learning, IoT and Blockchain and was on the panel for discussion on challenges when implementing cloud computing and ushering in newer technologies like AI, Blockchain, and IoT.

Considering how things are shaping up in India, I was happy to know how some of the top guys in Indian corporate were not only familiar to cryptocurrency but in fact were also hodling a little bit of Bitcoin as well.

The opportunity to talk about Steem blockchain and cryptocurrency with some of the who's who of Indian IT corporate left me quite pleased at the end of the day!

I was also particularly looking forward to meeting Leslie D Monte. He's the National Technology Editor at HT Media/Mint. He was the gentleman who had extended me the invitation to the event on behalf of Mint and of course all this was possible because of my friend who is the CEO of Convergence Catalyst - a research and consulting firm based out of Bangalore, India.

The discussions were incredible and you can find more information on the agenda for the day here!

The event concluded with a startup pitch to the various investors on the day. I really liked two presentations.

One of them was about Talentchain blockchain startup and the other was a facial recognition algorithm and software. Both were incredibly good while the latter is already put to use and they were securing more funding.

There were other interesting pitches and it was amazing to see how startups go about securing funding!

I've been talking about brain drain from blockchain space in India for a while. Its true! Talentchain is based out of Malta while it's an Indian company owned and run by an Indian team!

I've also been reporting on the developments from India on the blockchain and crypto side of things. I really look forward to innovation from India in the years to come and I hope to keep everyone updated on things as they develop.

My friend had a few kind words to say at the end! Always look forward to working with him on newer projects!

Most of the time Indian social media provide their judgement like they are the supreme court of India.

Indian social media is hungry for TRP, For TRP they will do anything. I am sure most of the Hindi News channel reporter did not know anything about Blockchain Technology or cryptocurrency, never do their homework before speaking on this issue, Act like they are expert and give their judgement like a dictator as you share a tweet screenshot. As a crypto lover, it is everybody responsibility to stop those who spread FUD among Indian crypto investor.

Ikr! Same views here! Most media channels have idiots for anchors and are generally owned and run by fronts for politicians. So much for freedom of press and quality of information provided by media.

I love the way how you promoted Steem to a group of smart people in India...
I am sure they would quickly get it and hopefully see them soon in this platform.

Thanks. Long way to go. Many are still confused about the legal status of cryptocurrency in India.

It's sad to see these top news channels are so irresponsible. Not only for cryptos, but there are tons of shit news telecasted every now and then.

Yeah. Sad but true.

Are all the major coins listed on Giottus?
Which exchange offers lesser withdrawal charge Koinex or Giottus.

I don't trade alt coins on Indian exchanges when Binance is available but I think they have many major ones listed. Giottus might be cheaper but you might want to double check in case they have changed policies. I havnt looked into this recently since the fees are not very high generally.

CNN New's 18 carries a lot of clout, and then they jump on the fake new's band wagon. We certainly do not need this now, I often wonder if that is the plan to bash Crypto when it is is weak.....(:
Resteemed Firepower!

Even asbthe market adjusts itself, the impact on perception is a major issue.
