RE: Brave And BAT (Basic Attention Token) Looking To Pay You While Revolutionizing The Digital Advertising Model????

This project has always intrigued me.  I am not a fan of the idea of centralized tokens but it might just work in this instance.

The fact that Google and Facebook could be the main ones hindered really catches my attention.  I like the idea of a "opt-in" advertising model.  People are going to realize that their attention has value.

Sort:

I've made mention before of 'opt-in' adverts on Steemit (that can be shut off with the same ease that people shut off NSFW content) and it got me a lot of sour lemon reactions... But -- really -- if it's 100% opt in -- what would the harm be -- and I can imagine the effect that'd have on the price of Steem...

Thoughts?

I think it is a valid idea.  If someone is willing to watch a 30 second advertisement for some BAT (or STEEM in your suggestion), then why should that be discouraged.  Those who do not want to view it, can pass.

I like the analogy to the NSFW content....if one has a problem with it, dont view it....simple.  No need to censor content.

If you want to watch some ads and make yourself some STEEM, why should I have an issue with that?

Certainly a better idea for earning credit than employing indiscriminate vote bots!

Yes I agree with you that BAT could be a good solution to revolutionize the way advertisement and user experience will come together. What do you think of Oyster Pearl on IOTA Blockchain. This Team managed to right one line of java code to implement there new Adrevenue model. That looks pretty amazing and convinient to me if you have time check it out. https://oysterprotocol.com/
