📚 Baby/Children's Book of the Week: # 6 ~ Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale 📚
Welcome to Week 6 of our reading journey!
Mo Willems is another one of my favorite children's author and illustrators. He's known for numerous books including the Pigeon series, Elephant & Piggie series, Knuffle Bunny, Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs, Amanda and her Alligator and many other reading delights. And today, I'm sharing the Knuffle Bunny with you. That's "Knuffle" pronounced with a hard "K" :)
Reading aloud to your child is a wonderful shared activity to promote language development and early literacy skills in a fun and stimulating way.

Trixie lives with her mum and dad in Brooklyn, NY. One day she and her dad walk to their local laundromat to do the washing. She plays around and helps her dad put the clothes and money into the machines. But on the way home. she realizes something was missing…

Trixie is trying to tell her dad what the problem is but he's just not understanding her. She had no choice… she bawled and went boneless… those of you with kids can relate to this… how are they able to go boneless?!?

Thankfully there is a happy and endearing end to the story and it may not be what you think...
I love Mo's illustrations for this book - not your typical drawings. Instead Mo creates a unique fun collage using black and white photographs of his neighborhood for the background and colorful cartoon characters for Trixie and the other characters we meet in the story.

Reading to your child is a great activity to have! Not only does it bond you with you and your child but it also strays the attention away from electronics, mobile devices and games!

We love Mo Willems too!! Cree got the "Elephant and Piggie Biggie" for her birthday in August and it's by far her favourite book (placing itself at the top of the "bedtime reading" list by at least 4 out of 7 days of the week). I'll have to find a copy of this one for her too!
