....I wanted to share a few more thoughts regarding Palnet.io project.
It started with a question I made to a really good friend of mine, here on the platform and I hope in real life too at some point, when I pretty much asked him directly if he has claimed his PAL tokens until now.
I can't really say I was surprised by his reply since pretty ugly stuff have been happening lately (Dmania - Magicdice) so people are really cautious...I hate repeating myself but I'll make one last exception...
Successful projects are being built on trust. Unless there is trust, a project is doomed from day 1. And I am pretty sure that those of you who have been hanging around here trust @aggroed and the whole team of witnesses, mods and devs behind it. Needless to shoutout all the names...you can just join their discord channel if you haven't done it so far and say "hi"
There is a BIG difference though regarding PAL claimdrop that is still running till the end of the month compared to similar claimdrops / airdrops you name it...
You see, not everyone is eligible to claim PAL tokens...In fact I was kinda shocked to find out that only ~ 16K accounts qualify. And that's because there are some strict requirements such as:
You need to have at least 10 SP
You need to be active for the past 2 months
And...you have to be a distinguished member in steem community aka not being blacklisted.
I suspect a few reasons why @aggroed and the team behind the PAL project is targeting this group of people. Isn't it obvious?
- They want active members
- Fair players
- And those who are not milking the platform...instead have a vision and keep building both their accounts and the community, each with their own unique way.
Now you see why only ~16K accounts are eligible. Up until yesterday, around 3100 accounts had claimed their tokens and while you may think you have plenty of time (you do) time is passing by really fast...if you know what I mean.
On the other hand, those of you who are not eligible for the claimdrop, you don't have to worry. Nothing is stopping you from participating and using the palnet tag, but you'll have to do it the hard way...from scratch. And either invest (while price is still low) or, the old fashioned way, by posting and start building your accounts slowly and steadily.
You still have questions why you were not included? Then check @swelker101's post to find out why.
PS. If for some reason while you fulfill all the requirements, yet you are not included don't hesitate to contact a member of the stuff. I am sure they will fix this asap.

You can also mine Pal tokens by purchasing and staking the PALMM or PALM miner tokens on steem engine, pretty cool.

Well, subsribed on Steemengine. After that gave my email. Got a confirmation with a link that i clicked on to confirm the subscribtion. After that back to Steemengine clicked on blue dot (left on top) to claim token. But nothing happened.
What I do have is 1600 ENGAGE
and 1 BEER
But no PAL.
People informed me the you should refresh the page and maybe try a couple of times since the transfer isn't instant

Respectability and having a track record matters in this "industry" because there ARE a lot of sketchy projects out there.
I have avoided most of them. The reason I immediately claimed my PAL tokens was precisely that this is one of the oldest and most respected Discord communities, and there is a proven track record there. PLUS they are being really selective. Is that "elitist?" Well, maybe but we all have the right to be part of whatever communities we choose!
And just because I am part of this doesn't mean that I won't still put effort into finding and helping newbies who are not qualified to be part of it.
I think this sums up pretty much my thoughts also.
I was terrified i didnt get the drop... so much FOMO! Was both honoured and proud to get them as it recognised the hard work i put in. Its such a FABULOUS idea and hope i can contribute to making it successful...

All good, there were a few schools of thought, but we settled on that number for a lot of reasons, the biggest being, this is about fixing the distribution problem, not replicating it. Also, at least initially, people dumping the claimdrop isn't a concern. It's just doing something that we ultimately wanted to do, which is making sure the discounted tokens get to people that actually want to hold them and use them and I suppose helps out people that needed the funds enough or don't have enough faith in us to keep them.
Sorry for that typo and glad you saw it first so that there are no misunderstandings.
And I am pretty sure that this is exactly the way it will play out.
