"J'étais à la Juve quand j'ai vu Zidane pour la première fois. Les premières semaines, je courais autour du terrain et j'admirais ce qu'il faisait avec le ballon. Je le regardais comme un enfant regardant un dessin animé. À l'entraînement, j'essayais de faire ce qu'il faisait, mais je n'y arrivais jamais... puis un jour il s'est approché de moi et m'a dit :
« Bravo ! Tu es si fort face au but, félicitations ! »
Je ne lui ai pas répondu mais je me suis dit :
« si moi je suis bon, et lui alors ?? »
Les semaines passaient et quand il en avait l'occasion, il me renouvelait ses compliments. Un jour, je lui ai dit :
« Tu es incroyable, je n'ai jamais vu personne traiter le ballon de cette façon »
Il a souri en disant : « Si je faisais ce que vous faites, je serais déjà à l'hôpital. Et puis, attendre la balle pendant un match entier, c'est de la folie ! »
Après ses mots, j'ai réalisé que tout le monde était né pour faire quelque chose. Je savais marquer des buts et il savait faire danser la balle.
Vous l'avez peut-être vu dans les matchs, mais Zizou à l'entraînement, il était paranormal !".
