Yup, those whales are really getting desperate when a post makes $25 + and then it gets downvoted.
Hard fork 22 fixed it all. You know that 50 / 50 reward for upvoting hot content within the first 5 - 10 minutes.
but then what happens when it’s too good?
I guess this is a good thing for minnows and dolphins.. but then again perhaps pennies won’t even be allowed soon enough.
Bots are good for promotion. There is no real reward paying someone to upvote you. The good old days when bots were new really saw those shit posts earning $50-$100.
No wonder about 20 upvote bots became mainstream from whale witnesses. Now whales be downvoting other whales using their own bots for promotions.
Now when a post earns $25 its gonna be downvoted. Yikes, ‘new steem’ reeks of desperation.
My advice is for us minnows and dolphins to hang on tight. Stay under the radar! That’s right! Even new original content may cost you too much. It’s like socialism; don’t over achieve cuz it will be taken away anyways.

right now, I'm only hoping they get bored with flailing about for 1/5 of what they made before they pulled these kinds of stunts, and start investing in the platform overall, which includes a community expectation of FAIR curation

@raymondspeaks no way man always try something new. Sometimes you may strike \rich\ if there aren't too many competing parties with a bot bid.
There are tokens you can also earn by using their upvote bot. Booster comes to mind. Its got a SCOT - Token. It's not a total loss for bots as I stated. It's just getting downvoted by anyone who see's you using one is a risk. Perhaps you can make insurance tokens. 2019/09/03 - my idea $$$ monies
Disagreement with rewards has always been the number one reason for flagging something. Generally speaking, if you use a bidbot to give your post a large dollar value, people are probably going to disagree with your rewards. Particularly if they don't feel your cat pics (or whatever) are worth $25. I don't see anything wrong with that dynamic.
I don't have a cat.. but if I did.. it would be named downvoted
