Autumn

The nights grow longer
The air grows colder
The leaves on the trees fall off
Persephone, my lady, where have you gone?

The farmer works hard
The fruits of autumn are harvested
The cycles of life continue
Demeter, my lady, we sense your despair!

The moon, she rises
As always she does
With glowing light or darkness
Hekate, my lady, light your torches!

The olive trees are bedecked
The ribbons well tied
The branches carried forth
Apollo, my lord, we call you!

The spirits of man walk
That they may be remembered
And women sing songs in their honor
Hermes, my lord, we follow you!

The procession is made
All sacrifice burned
The milk poured into the earth
O Blessed Gods we worship you!
