THE BUILD: The House. Concrete Slab Shop/Garage.

in #p7 years ago

HELLO EVERYBODY!

Welcome back to the build where I show you all the fun things involved in residential construction.

Today I got some pictures of our progress on the garage/shop. Before this, the back wall was one big pit! The ICF wall is quite tall from footing up 2 floors in this spot. The Silver Fox did an amazing job figuring this all out. I am just here to make it look good ;)

Here is the rebar, which I dowled into the concrete wall. This is done so all things concrete stay connected and do not crack. There is also water lines under the rebar as it will be infloor heating. This is the only heat in the shop. It is quite surprising how much heat pumps out through a concrete or tile floor done this way. We also have infloor heating in the mudroom and whole basement. We put 2 layers of 1 1/2" EPS insulation under this which is on top of a fully sealed layer of poly on top of crush rock. We offset the 2 layers and taped the seems, we do it right. The crush and layers underneath were compressed with a crazy hopping thingamajig.

Ok so here are some pictures!!!

That huge cable is the power line coming into house, main breaker will be on the wall. The other white pex lines are the water lines which will be hooked up to a manifold then directed to the Navien in the Mechanical Room.

Little pad for entry stairs to sit on formed up and ready.
