Hi dear steemians,

I know that not all of you are musicians but maybe some of you will be someday :-)

This blog i've decided to write it here on steemit for my brother, Johann Berby, the brilliant/fantastique bassist from our Tribe:

A few months ago we were talking in Bruxelles during one musical sejour and he explained me his fantastique idea of his blog, entitled https://bassistepro.com/ thru which his main purpose was to create a community of bassists
(professional/hobby bass-players) from France mainly and to offer them the opportunity to study with him music/bass lessons.

For those of you who doesn't know annything about Johann Berby i can write some short infos about my brother :-)

Born in 1983 in the middle of the Indian Ocean, on Reunion Island, the culture and musical sensibilities of Johann Berby are a reflection his origins: Indian, Malagasy and Mozambican.

Johann Berby began electric bass at the age of 16.

He started to play a lot on the music scene of Paris, being involved in many projects.

Johann stayed 6 months, during which time he studied the Mridangam (traditional south Indian percussion) with Sir-Tsnandakumar, and also studied classical (North) Indian singing with Tulika Ghosh, and some Sarod lessons with Anupam Shobhakar. It was during this trip that he had the good fortune to play in concert with Trilok Gurtu at the NCPA in Bombay, with TSNandaKumar and Adrian Dsouza (one of the best jazz drummers of Bombay). He also met Zakir Hussein and Terry Bozzio at a Bombay concert.

Johann works for 5 years as a permanent member in the « Trilok Gurtu Band ». In 2012, he decides to leave the band to explore other musical experiences and to develop his personal projects. He continues to collaborate with Trilok in some other projects.

Johann Berby worked and played with :

Trilok Gurtu Band, Vincent Ségal, Jan Garbarek, Marcus Miller, Yaël Naïm & David Donatien , Oumou Sangaré Group, Vieux Farka Touré, Rosemary Standley , Juan Carmona, Cheikh Lo, Sonia Wieder Atherton, Fatoumata Diawara, Mayra Andrade , Mory Kanté, Victor Deme, Mamani Keita Les Tambours De Brazzaville (musique du congo), Shankar Mahadevan, Niladri Kumar, Sibiri Samaké, Aly Keita, Blick Bassy, Foula and so many others…

Since year 2014, Johann Berby is the bassist of our Tribe http://balkumbatribe.com/

Here you can hear him on one of my compositions recorded in studio for our Tribe's new album entitled State of Soul:

The name of the composition is: Afreeindian Journey

Regarding his blog page https://bassistepro.com/ (which is the main subject of our blog today) i'll present you some of his videos thru which his goal is to get together the french community of bassists that would love to study with him. Of course there's acceptance for musicians from outside region of France ... even from India and other regions of this world.

Here's the introduction video of Johann Berby for his blog page:

You can find as well educational videos with the lessons that he is proposing to the students to improve their groove/technique/improvisation skills on bass:

I do recommend to all the musicians, not even bassists, that they should get in touch with Johann Berby for studying not only bass, but as well other genres of ethnic music styles such as : african music, indian music, middle eastern and as well: jazz, funk, blues, latin.

In my humble opinion i consider my brother Joahnn Berby a brilliant player/teacher in music.

Check out more of his works and apply for his newsletters via his blog page:

https://bassistepro.com/

Follow his work and believe me, it will worth every $$$ that you'll invest in his classes

Stay Blessed steemians and as my brother Johann always says : " Groove like a Pig !" :-)

Regards
