SLC S27 Week6 - Let's Play OpenTTD - Trains & Railways
Hello Friends ✨
OpenTTD – Task 1 🚛
First, I chose a town that had a water tower and a population of less than 500 people. And the area I chose is not a city. That is, I chose a city as it was supposed to be in the task.
Then I set up a headquarters for my company there, then I went to the place sign option, wrote down the starting population of that town, and took a screenshot.
OpenTTD – Task 2 🚛
This time I sat on the train station on either side of the water tower and water supply in the city. Then I built a railway line between the two stations. Then I will build a railway depot and buy trains from there.
First I bought a train engine. Then I bought two water tankers. Then I set the train order and started the train. The train is loading and unloading everything and making a profit.
Then I did food transfer. Grain goes from where it is grown to the factory. The factory basically makes food and it comes to the city.
Then I worked on three more resources that I wanted to share in the screenshots above. Here I also worked on rubber plantation, copper ore mine and diamond. This is how the resources were flowing, but due to a mistake on my part, my bank balance or town growth was not happening.
I already went bankrupt once. But I tried again and then I found that I couldn't improve my company in any way. Actually, I was not able to properly utilize the loan that was initially given to me. That's why this happened. Then I opened a new company and did the same work in that town again. The screenshot above is my new town tie I shared. Here I delivered water and food to the city. Then I saw the value of my company increasing. But after a while, I saw that the town was not improving.
OpenTTD – Task 3 🚛
I then started transporting passengers and mail within the city. But what I noticed was that the town was not improving. In fact, the town needed proper food and water. Town growth is much faster if food and water can be delivered. That's what I thought. I transported messengers and mail and saw that the town was not growing in any way. The town window kept showing the need for food and water. Then I increased the water supply in the town.Similarly, I have increased the food supply in the city. After a while, I saw the city growing. So I think it's more important to transport water and food to the city. Of course, it is also important to note that food and water are transported to every part of the city. Even if you don't notice it, the city doesn't grow much.
As you can see above, the city has grown. The population has increased. I have arranged for water and food transportation to different parts of the city. I have also used messenger and mail, but I think water and food are more important.
OpenTTD – Task 4 🚛
Here I took a screenshot with the town window open to show the growth of the city. Then I showed my company's bank balance and company value.
I would like to invite @kouba01 @chant @kiwiscanfly and @dexsyluz to participate in this challenge.

Thank you for joining the sixth week of studying this game!
Despite bankruptcies and difficulties, your company has paid off its loan and now has 4 million in balance.
Playing in the desert is already challenging, and you also had the “vehicle breakdown and wear” option turned on — that made it even harder. On top of that, there’s inflation, economic fluctuations, and strong competitors!
The city constantly needs water and food — and more and more of it over time — but you managed to handle that well.
Your income is still quite low, and there are lots of resources waiting at the stations. You should gradually add more vehicles and extra stations.
I also noticed that your stations are only one tile long — you should make them longer so that the whole train can fit on the platform. Otherwise, it takes much longer to load and unload.
Overall, you did a good job — it was a tough map and conditions, but you handled it with persistence and creativity!
