Repairing Plumbing In Our New House
Just about everything leaked in our new home when we first got here. I had to repair the plumbing before we could really settle in.
We had no water for two days while I was working on the plumbing. The toilet was the worst. The water valve was leaking badly and filling up an 8 ounce cup every 10 minutes.
The kitchen faucet was the very worst but since it was not causing any damage I considered it a lower priority. It had a steady stream flowing out of it all the time.
Both bathroom faucets leaked as well.
Even the pipe to the shower head leaks when in use but thats not a problem right now because we have no hot water. The water heater does not work.
None of this bothers me though because we got a very good price for two houses and the land.
And since the water heater is already bad it will not hurt to replace the elements with DC solar powered heating elements when I can afford it.
After a few trips to the hardware store and back I finally got the three faucets working and the toilet leaked stopped.
For now we have water again.
I still have to replace the drain under the kitchen sink and fix the water heater. And get a plumber to fix the leaking shower fitting because that is copper and needs to be soldered.
But we are getting there.

FYI soldering the pipes should be rather easy... Just YouTube it... lol. Honestly though I do a lot more wood work than new house saving...
Yes I considered soldering but with the new press on fittings its so easy to just use them instead. And a bit less fire hazard. lol
Shark Bites... the plumber we use loves those things. The vinyl/pvc flexible piping is the shiiiit. Excuse my language.
Yes, that is what I eventually convert all my old plumbing over to. PVC tubing and Sharkbite. But I also have the clamps and crimping pliers if I have the space to use them.

I don't want to harm you, never have. I might say I want to punch you on the nose, but that is just a figure of speech to express my contempt for you.
What I honestly want for you is for you to earn an honest living to support your family. I want you to stop pleading poverty with every other breath, and most of all I want you to remove yourself from the public eye for good. I could go on and on about all the other things I would like you to do, but those three are a good place to start. Who knows, in ten years time you could have paid your Mum back the loan for the Dumpstead, and you could be eating normal food. From shops, not charities.
I have a very positive outlook on life, thank you very much. That comes from staring death in the face on more than one occasion.
