There is a me deep inside of me
Pushing me to be a better me
Nudging me to stop hiding me
From a world that needs me

I need me
To come out of me
And allow me to be me
But I am scared to let me
Be the real me that I want to be

What will happen if I am me?
What can go wrong with being me?
Will the world like me to be me?
Or should keep me inside of me

I long to be me
I want to be me
I desire to be me
But am I ready to be me?

So I tuck the me I long to be
Deep inside me
And hope that someday
I will have the courage
To be me.
