Her heart is heavy, that I could see
Whatever it is, I really wish she could say
Every night I watched her mutter words and pray
Hoping she would receive answers and not become a prey
I wish she could open up and say
Her worries and thoughts came to stay
Her heavy eyes gave so much away
Heavy eyes with so many stories yet untold
She might be skeptical as she doesn't know what will unfold
Maybe she felt no one would understand
Or probably they would just have her scold
She seem down, sad, disturbed yet without words
Her bubbling self didn't shine through amidst the reception so cold
Life is delicate, yes I know too
We've had our fair shares in life albeit varying
Others have betrayed us and our trusts hence being careful
It's hard to know who to trust and open up to
Humans can be funny as the heart is yet unknown
Deep secrets buried inside yet to be unfolded
They might smile and show they care
But behind the curtains they shine teeth in excitement
Life is sometimes about risks and we should follow our hearts
We need one another so yes, speak when your heart says
You never know who holds the key to the things you have bottled up

A very relatable poem. We are accustomed to responding "I'm fine" to "how are you" questions. When deep down we really aren't fine. Everyone is fighting a battle within, so let's be considerate with one another.
