Walking in Isolation - Coronapocolypse Edition
Staying Fit While Social Distancing
Like most people around the world, we are cooped up in the house due to the virus currently rampaging through society.
However, the government recognizes that people need to exercise, so we are allowed to go for walks as long as we remain 6 feet away from other people.
We have found that although we strictly follow this guideline, it is becoming increasingly difficult to avoid people because they can't seem to get with the program.
We would move to one side of a path into the grass, and they would spread out and get closer to us.... WTF?
Our solution has been to drive around, and keep driving until we find a place where there is no one in site. Today we got lucky at the San Pedro Marina.
We have taken to mostly avoid the walking paths completely, and just walking across fields and grass, since people can't seem to keep their distance.
Sorry if I seem a bit frustrated in this post - perhaps I am a little! I feel like not enough people are taking this seriously.
One thing that we've done at home is set up exercise stations around different rooms. Amanda is a trained fitness professional so she has designed a bunch of different exercises that we can do each time we enter a particular room.
It's a little weird, I admit; but at least we can avoid getting overweight again while stuck in the house!
Luckily it was a beautiful day and there was absolutely no one around. My friend Steve owns a boat that he keeps here. I keep think that if I had a boat right now, I think I'd be out on the water for most of the day - anywhere but stuck in my apartment in the middle of Los Angeles!
Well, all we can do is take things one day at a time now. I will continue my walks as long as I can find isolated places to walk until all of this madness blows over. Until then, stay safe my friends!

It's America dude.. everyone thinks it's their God given right to do whatever the hell they want. That's why we now have the most cases in the world! It really dumb man...

This decision you have made is a reflection of survival. Yes, it is true, it is a conditioned reflection because we have had to assume isolation in a taxable way. But once we become aware of the true gravity of the situation then we react by survival instinct.
How many times have we seen similar situations in post-apocalyptic movies and series? Now we are living it in our own flesh.
But all this will happen sooner or later. "Any way ... the wind blows."

At least you can still walk around @nuthman , in Kuala Lumpur the police will stop you and ask you, "why are you out here?? Go home!"
KL could be facing 3rd wave of infection if the curve is not flattening anytime soon. We will soon have an 8pm to 8am "curfew" in order to force people to stay at home by closing all the grocers (which are the only public operating space left where you see people around)
Actually, since I wrote this, we are no longer walking. Sadly it is just getting worse and worse everywhere, and I don't really feel safe going out no more. I think we're in it for the long haul now!
Yeah, there are a lot of broad daylight robbery / snatch thieves started.
Luckily we managed to get a grocery store delivery order this evening. It should be arriving in about an hour! I am surprised too, because we've been trying for a week and only just now managed to get it. Crazy times, my friend!
