In the Richard III theatrical work of the Shakespearean tetralogy, it is told
the eternal war between the York and the Lancaster also known as the War of the Two Roses.
The play by William Shakespeare is the source of inspiration for this very long series, Game of Thrones, by the writer George R.R.Martin.

Sometimes I work on commission, that is, I paint a subject on request.

Performing a painted subject, ordered by other people is always a very hard test, you have to confront yourself with their ideas and their expectations.
Personally I ask many questions, trying to pick up some interesting signals for the subject to portray.
Although it is very difficult to find indications or clues about animals or other particular subjects.

In thirty years of activity, many clients have happened to me who have commissioned the most diverse and sometimes trivial subjects, others very interesting
List some of the client requests:

• represent the villa in which they lived
• a boat
• pets, dogs, cats or birds
• the portrait of their children
• a deceased.
• cartoon characters.
• the lover.
• little stories about Steemit.

Today I share with you an oil on canvas of one of the most famous characters of the last ten years, we see it both on television and in cinemas.
Jon Snow.

This painting was born out of an explicit request from a couple of young people who wanted a portrait of the famous character from the series The Game of Thrones.
My main problem was to give a context to the character, that is to make it as significant as possible.
Since my clients wanted a traditional portrait, that is a bust, of a typically English style.
I could not go deeper into the search for a setting and the personal objects of the character, but only on his psychological traits.
What I wanted to highlight is the brightness of Jon's face, and the cleanliness of his facial features, explicit reference to his personality.

His repulsion towards social contacts, his isolation, is in the distrust of his eyes.

Also the cold that comes, glacial, in the worry of his look.

I tried to characterize it with rapid and free brush strokes

I wanted to highlight the eyes, and the hair, moved by the icy wind of the dreaded winter.
The fur coat blends with the snowflakes, which fly into the cold atmosphere.

Nel Riccardo III opera teatrale della tetralogia shakesperiana, è raccontata
la guerra eterna tra i York e i Lancaster conosciuta anche come la Guerra delle due Rose.
L' opera teatrale di William Shakespeare è la fonte di ispirazione per questa serie lunghissima, Game of Thrones, dello scrittore George R.R.Martin.

Alle volte mi capita di lavorare su commissione, cioè dipingere un soggetto su richiesta.

Eseguire un soggetto dipinto, ordinato da altre persone è sempre una prova molto dura, devi confrontarti con le loro idee e le loro aspettative.
Personalmente faccio molte domande, cercando di captare dei segnali interessanti per il soggetto da ritrarre.
Anche se è molto difficile trovare indicazioni o indizi su animali o altri soggetti particolari.

In trent'anni di attività mi sono capitati molti clienti che hanno commissionato i soggetti più diversi e a volte banali altre molto interessanti
Elenco alcune delle richieste di committenti:

• rappresentare la villa in cui vivevano

• animali domestici, cani, gatti o uccelli
• il ritratto dei loro figli
• un defunto.
• personaggi dei cartoni.
• l' amante.
• piccole storie su Steemit.

Oggi condivido con voi un olio su tela di uno dei personaggi più famosi degli ultimi dieci anni, lo vediamo sia in televisione che nelle sale cinematografiche.

Questo dipinto nasce, per una richiesta esplicita di una coppia di giovani che volevano un ritratto del famoso personaggio della serie Il Trono di Spade (Game of Thrones.)
Il mio problema principale è stato quello di dare una contestualizzazione al personaggio, cioè di renderlo più significativo possibile.
Poiché i miei committenti volevano un ritratto tradizionale, cioè a mezzobusto, di stile tipicamente inglese.
Non ho potuto approfondire nella ricerca di una ambientazione e sugli oggetti personali del personaggio, ma solo sui suoi tratti psicologici.
Quello che ho voluto mettere in evidenza è la luminosità del volto di Jon, e la pulizia dei suoi tratti somatici, riferimento esplicito alla sua personalità.
La sua repulsione verso i contatti sociali, il suo isolamento, è nella diffidenza dei suoi occhi.

Inoltre il freddo che arriva, glaciale, nella preoccupazione dello sguardo.

Mezzo busto e ritratto del volto.
Ho cercato di caratterizzarlo con tratti di pennello rapidi e liberi

Ho voluto evidenziare gli occhi, ed i capelli, mossi dal vento gelido del temuto inverno.
Il mantello di pelliccia si fonde con i fiocchi di neve, che volano nell'atmosfera fredda.

spero che il dipinto vi piaccia.
