The sea festival

A very personal watercolor dedicated to the colors of the sea in summer.

A work that I have carried out in complete freedom, stimulated by the desire to make a seascape colorful.

I start with a simple drawing with a blue pen, drawing the boats, the nets and the pier.
From a distance in the background a small island with few houses.

The compositional aspect is free, without relying heavily on design, which is only hinted at.

Even the brushstrokes on the wet sheet have full freedom of expression, and I like to emphasize the fusion of warm and cold colors.

In the seascape I left some white spots of light (not colored), to create more luminous contrasts with the tones of cobalt blue and violet.

Orange is the bright base in the foreground, which enhances the complementary colors of blue and dark purple.

The result is a feast of colors in the sea.

La festa del mare

Un personalissimo acquarello dedicato ai colori del mare in estate.

Un lavoro che ho realizzato in piena libertà, stimolato dalla voglia di rendere colorato un paesaggio marino.

Parto con un semplice disegno con una penna blu, disegnando le barche, le reti e il molo.
Da lontano sullo sfondo una piccola isola con poche case.

L'aspetto compositivo è libero, senza fare molto affidamento al disegno, che è soltanto accennato.

Anche le pennellate sul foglio bagnato hanno piena libertà espressiva, e mi piace sottolineare la fusione dei colori caldi e freddi.

Nel paesaggio marino ho lasciato qualche punto bianco di luce (non colorato) , per creare maggiori contrasti luminosi con i toni del blu cobalto e del violetto.

L'arancione è la base luminosa in primo piano, che esalta i toni dei colori complementari del blu e del viola scuro.

Il risultato è una festa di colori, nel mare.
