Badass Superfood Smoothie For Crazy People

I got inspired by a Ben Greenfield podcast where Dr. Mercola was the guest. This was one he made for himself often as a breakfast, took the freedom of mixing it up a bit. Was just impressed by the energy I got from it and will continue to make this for breakfast or lunch.

Here it is:

  • 2-3 Free range organic egg yolks
  • 1 Tbsp black cumin seeds soaked overnight in some water
  • 1 Tbsp black sesame seeds soaked overnight in some water
  • 1 Tbsp coriander seeds
  • 1 Small to medium avokado
  • Pau d'arco bark tea ( grinded or steeped) or break open two capsules and just put them in there
  • 1- 1,5 Cup Mercola used hawthorn berries(can't get them in Norway), I used organic blue berries 1- 1,5 cup frozen
  • 1/2 Cup coconut milk( full fat, you know the creamy stuff)
  • 2 Tbsp ground chia seeds
  • 2 Tbsp ground flax seeds
  • 2 Tbsp of raw cacao
  • 1-2 tbsp MCT oil
  • 1 Egg shell( calsium supplement)
  • 1,5 Scoop red beet powder (I used Beet Elite powder but you can also just use beet juice or beets)
  • 1 Big scoop greens powder( veggies, grasses, algae like spirulina chlorella)
  • 1/4 Cucumber( for the EZ water)
  • Some ice cubes
    Just enough water to make the blender manage it, it should be thick.

Optional

  • Moringa
  • Brokkoli & kale sprout mix( broccoli sprouts for the sulphoraphane content). Google that stuff, you will be amazed.

Mint leaves I think will be a great addition as well, I will try that tomorrow.

First grind the chia, coriander and flax seed in a coffee grinder.
Then place all ingredients in the blender and mix, it should be thick so don't use more water then you need for the blender to mix it. We (me & @camelx) eat it with a spoon for lunch or breakfast but you could pull it off as a dessert if you wanted to.
You can actually feel the rush of energy coming from this stuff. If you like it sweeter just add a few stevia drops.

Make it a mindfulness exercise to eat it and notice the weird but very good combination of flavors. For crunchiness add chopped nuts of your choice, we did almonds, cashews and pecans today. Tomorrow it might be pistachios and/or walnuts. Your choice ;)

Flax and chia are both nutritent dense and great for fiber content and also good fatty acids

The fatty acids in the egg yolks bind some compounds in pau d'arco and raise NAD levels to make it a NAD+ anti aging supplement almost as good as a few 100 dollar NAD+ injections according to an other podcast I heard a while back. Yeah many times. They are very good, a bit high in omega 6 but if you keep an eye on your omega 3 intake they can be a great addition to your diet
