Can Facebook Compete With Twitch?steemCreated with Sketch.

I am a big Twitch fan. If you are not a gamer or are not into the gaming scene you might think that sites like Twitch are odd. What, people watch people play video games. Yes they do and it is a lot bigger than you think. The Twitch site is the 32 most visited site is the world according to Alexa ratings and this is live streaming so a good place for advertisers. Not only does Twitch show gaming but Youtube also has channels of their own. And now Facebook is looking to compete.

They are opening their own livestreaming for gamers to get their own views. I do not know if they can compete to be honest, Twitch has cornered the market and I can tell you as a gamer that is my go to when I watch gaming. It will depend on how well they incentive the people who are playing the games. I do hope they pay them well for their views.

I think Twitch won't be in danger at all. It is just so familiar and well run. I even think that Twitch is getting even more popular as time goes. Especially now with everyone being so hyped around Ninja and Fortnite in general.

I agree it is taking off.

We have seen a lot of attempts to dethrone Twitch. Azubu, even Dailymotion. Twitch is by far no.1 in the west, but they still can't breakthrough in Korea in China that much, and that market is as large as Europe and America combined

There was a major gaming company in Australia (ESL gaming) that moved their stream over from Twitch to Facebook and their viewer count drastically decreased. Twitch probably have nothing to really worry about unless Facebook offer something very beneficial to the streamer!

This news important for us . Thanks

i think facebook tries to open up to everything in order to experiment a bit and raised it's stock cause lately it's dropping. i don't think they will manage to do something and be an issue for twitch. it's like Facebook lost it's identity nowadays and try everywhere to find it.

now to answer to your final question, i don't watch any games in particular, i have watched a couple of lol tournaments but in general i prefer to play them :P

If they survive the scandal of stealing private information of there user. Perhaps they can compete to Twitch. I have an account there and livestream some few games.

I watch a lot of streaming on Twitch (I'm a big fan of League of Legends and Heartstone) and I don't think Facebook can be a danger (especially now, as it's really struggling to stay up).
By the way I have never seen streaming yet on Facebook... Isn't the resolution quality reduced?
