Government Employees Hired to Protect Children Sexually Assault Children, According to Government Documents
The Department of Health and Human Services recorded 4,500 sexual assaults on unaccompanied minors from 2014-2018, according to internal documents released on Tuesday by Florida Democratic Rep. Ted Deutch.
The Justice Department received 1,303 reports of sexual assaults on children during the same time period.

Thousands of immigrant children are being separated from their parents under Trump's "zero tolerance" immigration policy, and there are "a high number of sexual assaults on unaccompanied children in the custody of the Office of Refugee and Resettlement," said Deutch. source
The Department of Health and Human Services has "lost track" of at least 3,000 migrant children placed with sponsors after leaving federal shelters in 2018. source
