In the case of the killed journalist Jamal Khashoggi, the evidence of an involvement of the Saudi crown prince condenses. The CIA calls Mohammed bin Salman unpredictable.

According to media reports, the CIA believes that Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has ordered the assassination of anti-government journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

The "Washington Post" reported on Friday (local time), the US intelligence based their thesis on a phone call from Khashoggi with the Saudi Ambassador to the United States, a brother of the Crown Prince. However, according to the New York Times, the CIA has no clear evidence of its thesis.

According to the Washington Post, after evaluating several sources, the CIA concluded that 15 Saudi Arabian agents flew to Istanbul on a government machine and killed Kashoggi at their country's consulate.

Earlier, Saudi Arabian ambassador to the US, Crown Prince Mohammed's brother, Khalid bin Salman, assured Khashoggi that there was no danger of obtaining papers for his wedding at the Istanbul Consulate.

Ambassador rejects accusations

Chalid bin Salman rejected the Washington Post report on his phone call with Khashoggi. "This is a serious accusation that should not be left to anonymous sources," he wrote on Twitter, adding a statement to his message. A spokesman assured that Khalid bin Salman had "never made any telephone calls" with Khashoggi.

The CIA findings threaten to further burden relations between the US and its important ally Saudi Arabia...
