Having been on YT since 2006 it's kind of sad seeing what the site has become.
It used to be a place of limitless freedom of speech and thinking, creativity, entertainment. But the older it got the more freedoms were taken away, the shittier the page design got, geoblocking, music blocking, copyright takedowns, questionable new rules etc.
YT was probably at its best between 2009 and 2012(not perfect but still better than its competitors back then and now).
One might think with adpocalypse shit hit the fan really hard and it couldn't get any worse.
Now we know it can, and with Steem and d.tube on the horizon I somewhat wish YT masterminds get a good load of their own shit they've been putting their users through all those years...
I remember when YouTube started demonetizing video back in 2016. Videos that are "ad-friendly" I get that advertisers don't want to show ads on video that can ruin their rep, but if someone makes a video about pancakes and YouTube demonetizes that, now its out of hand
