How to SaveOurFuture 1 OF 28: The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), tipping point is here!

Would you like some inside information that Trump and the Republicans haven't read and refuse to read?

The world's scientists have just produced the annual report on Climate Change

The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), say the tipping point is here!
To see the detail the full report follow the link here:
https://unfccc.int/resource/annualreport/

An IrishTimes article summed up the findings this way:
"
5 Key Findings of ‘1.5 degree’ report:

  1. The world has already warmed by 1.1 degrees since pre-industrial times, due to human activity. On current trends, it’s likely to pass the 1.5 degree mark between 2030 and 2052. Land is warming faster than the oceans and the Arctic is warming at two- to three-times the global average rate.
  2. Even half a degree will significantly worsen the risks of drought, floods, extreme heat and poverty for hundreds of millions of people."

"3. To stabilise temperatures, emissions need to reach net zero and stay there. That means cutting emissions as much as possible and drawing carbon out of the air to balance any remaining emissions. The amount of warming is ultimately determined by how long it takes to get to net zero.

  1. To have any chance of limiting global temperature rises to 1.5 degrees by 2100 would mean a greater reliance on techniques such as “carbon capture and storage” – such techniques are unproven at large scale; some may carry significant risks for sustainable development.

  2. The Earth is already seeing the consequences of 1.1 degree of global warming in the form of more extreme weather, rising sea levels and diminishing Arctic sea ice.

. . . consequences . . . :

  1. At 2 degrees extremely hot days, such as those experienced in the northern hemisphere this summer, would become more severe and common, increasing heat-related deaths and causing more forest fires.

  2. At 1.5 degrees, the proportion of the global population exposed to water stress (difficulty obtaining fresh water) could be 50 per cent lower than at 2 degrees.

  1. The greatest difference would be to nature: insects, which are vital for pollination of crops and plants are almost twice as likely to lose half their habitat at 2 degrees compared with 1.5 degrees. Corals would be 99 per cent lost at the higher of the two temperatures, but more than 10 per cent have a chance of surviving if the lower target is reached.

  2. Sea-level rise would affect 10 million more people by 2100 if the half-degree extra warming brought a forecast 10cm additional on coastlines. Over centuries and millennia, sea levels will continue rising after temperatures have stabilised. The collapse of ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica could lead to rises of several metres.

  3. Biodiversity loss: the proportion of species that will “lose half their geographic range” is striking – out of 105,000 species studied, the rate doubles between 1.5 degrees and 2 degrees warming to 16 per cent for plants and 8 per cent for vertebrates, and triples to 18 per cent for insects.

The Silver Lining in a very dark cloud is we can reverse this but it takes alot of work and coming together with resolve.

But, Trump and the Republican party promote client change a myth because they are taking money from the fossil fuels industries and dirty old manufacturing that requires money to clean it up.

The worst thing is they are old greedy people running the republican party that don't care about anyone else, as long as they get theirs! Starting with Dropping out of the Paris Accords and gutting the EPA and ignoring facts.

Evidence:

Excerpt from a WP Article:
'According to data released under the Freedom of Information Act and analyzed by The Washington Post, at least 260 scientists, 185 “environmental protection specialists” and 106 engineers are gone.

Several veteran EPA employees, who have worked for both Republican and Democratic administrations, said the agency’s profound policy shifts under Trump hastened their departure.

“I felt it was time to leave given the irresponsible, ongoing diminishment of agency resources, which has recklessly endangered our ability to execute our responsibilities as public servants,” said Ann Williamson, a scientist and longtime supervisor in the EPA’s Region 10 Seattle office.

She left in March after 33 years at the agency, exasperated by having to plan how her office would implement President Trump’s proposed cuts and weary of what she viewed as the administration’s refusal to make policy decisions based on evidence. “I did not want to any longer be any part of this administration’s nonsense,” she said.'

So how do we fix this....

Get out and vote.... Democrats not just for congress, but for your state positions. Because the Republicans vote lockstep with each other on 95% of the issues. Not whether it's good or not on it's own merits. That has resulted in the Gerrymandering in the state houses have led to 2 presidencies that did not have the most votes by millions.
The census is being performed before the 2000 elections. And if the Republicans are in power in all 3 branches like it has been for the last 2 years all checks and balances against abuse will be destroyed.

That means even if you think your local Republican legislator is a good person.... YOU NEED TO VOTE AGAINST THEM THIS 1 ELECTION!

GET OUT AND VOTE!

And if we do not get Republicans out of office in the legislatures it will affect your children & grandchildren future, and lose things for the generations to come.
