I don't know what information you have Dan, and I respect your will as a responsible journalist to keep it to yourself at the moment, but I don't have to abide to the same profesional ethics as you do, so here is a rumour I've heard circulating about the Quebec mosque shooting:

The word is that Alex's twin brother was in a homosexual lovers relationship with the son of somebody working at the mosque and that the father disapproved of this. The son/lover was (to be) the second shooter with Alex who wanted to make a stand for his brother, but he supposedly had a change of heart at the last minute and backed off from doing the shooting when going there on that night.

Here is where I first heard about this hypothesis (in French, starting at 7:20) :

I'm not saying I believe in this ''homophobic islam'' theory, because there is always the third possibility that it was a hoax. A covert op in the first place specifically designed for the purpose of pushing the ''anti-islamophobia'' mainstream left as a tool for censorship and control of the masses.
