SALTO - The Little Parkour Robot
Researchers at the University of California have developed a one-legged robot capable of jumping quite a few times and reaching up to four times its own height.
SALTO by Saltatorial Locomotion Terrain Obstacles is a small robot developed in California and stands out for three reasons: it can jump up to four times its height, can jump frantically and have only one leg. Duncan Haldane was inspired by the animal world and developed the robot that achieves impressive height in the vertical jump. The tendon used by the Jump is actually a spring, which enables to reach these heights directly upright.
SALTO does not hit high scores, but he stands out because he can do parkour, going against a wall and using it as a base for the boost for a second jump.
