Indonesian Ambassador to Russia, M. Wahid Supriyadi, did not dismiss the news of the planned arrival of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Indonesia. Wahid explains that there has been talk of the planned number one visit in Russia, but his arrival schedule is not yet known.

Putin's visit is planned as a return visit after the previous President of Indonesia Joko Widodo visited Russia. The bilateral relations between Indonesia and Russia in the last two years have made great progress in the areas of military cooperation, trade, education and tourism.

"This arrival plan is not related to Putin's candidacy to return to President of Russia. It's just the same time, "Wahid said.

This year, Russia will hold elections, to be held on March 18, 2018. Currently, Putin, 65, has already earned 83 percent of the Russian community's support for returning to lead the Red Bear State. He became the most powerful candidate of the Russian President among seven candidates, who have signed up for the 2018 election.

In this political year, Wahid asserted that Russia's conditions are generally conducive. Using public transport until 12 pm in Putin country is still safe. The Embassy's data says there are about one thousand Indonesian citizens in Russia and half of them are students.
