A flashback of my adolescence has come to me; those days solar calculators that worked with solar energy began to appear and we thought it was magic.

Now it seems that the new solar technologies will extend this concept to be applied, not only to devices such as simple calculators but to all our mobile devices.

Xiaomi has filed a patent for a mobile phone that can be charged using solar energy, integrating a solar panel on the back of your smartphone.

Obviously this device can also be charged in a conventional way, through a USB-c connector but, the solar panel can extend the battery life considerably.

I think that the day when all our gadgets work by solar energy, becoming independent of the plugs and recharges, is not very far away.
