Flexible batteries for folding phones

A few years ago they've been announcing folding phones and even, we have already seen a couple of models timidly peeking out to the market.

But it turns out that the only flexible thing about these terminals is the screen, the rest of the components are still rigid which makes the development of flexible telephones quite difficult.

Therefore, the fact that ETH Zurich researchers have designed the first flexible battery that will pave the way for the manufacture of folding terminals and wearable devices is good news.

As the researchers explain, the battery is composed of a “flexible polymer compound that contains electrically conductive carbon”, which also serves to manufacture the anode, cathode and outer shell.

They still have to be improved but, without a doubt, this will allow designing the most amazing gadgets.
