BREAKING: U.S. Hits Back At Russia For 'Allegedly' Making Donald Trump President

in #news8 years ago

The final showdown between Russian President Putin and United States President Obama is here! The U.S. announced Thursday that it will be ejecting 35 Russian intelligence operatives and imposing sanctions on Russia’s two leading intelligence services.

It is no secret that Obama has threatened retaliation against Russia over rumors that the Russian government hacked into email accounts belonging to DNC officials and released information in order to help sway public opinion in favor of Donald Trump.

This move by Obama is unprecedented for his administration, and will require a great deal of effort from Trump in order to restore relations with Russia. It also serves as a reminder that the U.S. is acting under information from anonymous intelligence officials, and concrete evidence of hacking backed by the Russian government has still not been released.

While the U.S. is currently imposing sanctions against Russia, Vice President Biden claimed in October that retaliation for the alleged cyber-attacks would go much further than just sanctions.   “We’re sending a message,” Biden said.

“We have the capacity to do it. [Putin will] know it. And it will be at the time of our choosing. And under the circumstances that have the greatest impact.”

While some are claiming that Obama’s retaliation against Putin over the alleged hacking could provoke war between the two countries, I think it is much more likely that this is just Obama’s way of taking one final shot at his long-time adversary.

that's hilarious....Obama, who is rumored to have been actually born in Kenya and not even eligible to be in office, is rumored to be hitting back at Russia because russian was rumored to have supported the candidate in the election who was AGAINST war with Russia. Hilliary (Obama...term III) was rumored to be trying to start a war.

That's what I like about these news articles...cold, hard, facts

I think it is much more likely that this is just Obama’s way of taking one final shot at his long-time adversary.

I think Alexander Mercouris properly attributed who the "final shot" was for in his article on theduran.com where he stated ...

The true target of these sanctions is Donald Trump.

By imposing sanctions on Russia, Obama is lending the authority of the Presidency to the CIA’s claims of Russian hacking, daring Trump to deny their truth.

If Trump as President allows the sanctions to continue, he will be deemed to have accepted the CIA’s claims of Russian hacking as true. If Trump cancels the sanctions when he becomes President, he will be accused of being Russia’s stooge.

It is a well known lawyer’s trick, and Obama the former lawyer doubtless calculates that either way Trump’s legitimacy and authority as President will be damaged, with the insinuation that he owes his Presidency to the Russians now given extra force.

Like so many of Obama’s other moves in the last weeks of his Presidency, it is an ugly and small minded act, seeking to undermine his successor as President in a way that is completely contrary to US tradition.

Donald Trump – very wrongly – was one of those who cast doubt on Obama’s American birth; a deeply personal issue which Obama would be only human if he found difficult to forget or forgive. As for Putin, Obama’s dislike and jealousy of Vladimir Putin, who has consistently bested him throughout his Presidency, is hardly a secret.

It seems that as he quits the Presidency Obama cannot put these feelings of jealousy and resentment aside, but is determined to use the few weeks left to him to make life as difficult for Trump and Putin as he can after he is gone."
