The virtue of the month of Muharom

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه, قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «أفضل الصيام بعد رمضان: شهر الله المحرم, وأفضل الصلاة بعد الفريضة: صلاة الليل» رواه مسلم.

From Abu Hurairah radhiyallahu anhu, he said: "The Messenger of Allaah upon him said:" Mainly fasting after the month of Ramadan is in the month of glorified Allah - that is Muharram - and especially the prayers after the obligatory prayers are shaliatullail - that is sunnah at night - "(Muslim history)

The lessons contained in the hadith:

1- * Mainly fasting after the fasting month of Muharram as a main prayer especially after praying fardhu evening prayers. *
2- * Imam An Nawawi said: This Hadith shows that Muharram is the most noble month to carry out the sunnah fast. * (Syarah Shahih Muslim, 8/55)
3- Ibnul Qoyim explains that fasting is related to Ashura day there are three levels:
a. The most perfect level, * three-day fast. The day before Ashura, the day of Ashura, and the day after. *
b. * Second level, fasting on the 9th and 10th of Muharram. * This is based on many hadiths.
c. Third level, fasting * on the 10th. *

Hadith themes related to the Koran:

• • The month glorified by Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala there are four of them are the month of Muharram, it is recommended to do a lot of good deeds and leave the holy place. *

إن عدة الشهور عند الله اثنا عشر شهرا في كتاب الله يوم خلق السماوات والأرض منها أربعة حرم ذلك الدين القيم فلا تظلموا فيهن أنفسكم وقاتلوا المشركين كافة كما يقاتلونكم كافة واعلموا أن الله مع المتقين

Surely the number of months in the sight of Allah is twelve months, in the ordinance of Allah in the time He created the heavens and the earth, among them four unclean months. That is a straight religion, so do not persecute yourself in that fourth month and fight the polytheists as they fight all of you; and know that Allah is with those who fear (QS. At Taubah: 36).
