Jakarta (Antara Babel) - The Ministry of Religious Affairs will hold a session on the establishment of Idul Fitri 1 Syawal 1438 Hijri / 2017 AD on Saturday, June 24 next at the Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Jakarta.
"The preliminary hearing session of Shawwal will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Ministry of Religious Affairs," said Director of Islamic Affairs and Shariah Development Muhammad Thambrin in a written statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Through the mechanism of the trial isbat, said Thambrin, Ministry of Religious Affairs will set the time of Indonesian Muslims for Idul Fitri, 1 Syawal 1438 H.
Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin is scheduled to lead the hearing, together with the Chairman of the Indonesian Ulama Council KH Maruf Amin and Chairman of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives Ali Taher.
According to him, the hearing was also attended by the ambassadors of friendly countries, the Supreme Court, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (LAPAN), the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG), Bosscha Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) Planetarium, Falak Experts from Islamic mass organizations, Ministry of Religious officials and Hisab and Rukyat teams of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
"The hearing is a form of togetherness Kemenag with Islamic organizations and related institutions in setting the beginning of the month of Qamariyah, especially Ramadan, Shawwal and Dhul-Hijjah," he said.
