Portals of Hemkund Sahib shrine to open today

ortals of the Shikh shrine of Hemkund Sahib in Uttarakhand's Chamoli Garhwal district will open for pilgrims today.

The shrine remains closed during winters. Thousands of pilgrims are expected to join the opening of the portals of the religious shrine. A batch of pilgrims led by Pani Pyaras will be arriving in Hemkund for the opening ceremony.

The government has made all the necessary arrangements for the ceremony, local newspapers reported.
