Polish YouTuber slanders cryptos in Polish central bank campaign

in #news6 years ago

According to TrustNodes a Polish Youtuber with about 900,000 subscribers recently did a video slandering cryptocurrencies for about $30,000 that were paid to him by the country's central bank.

The move wasn't disclosed in the video, in which the YouTubers portrays an investors who goes all in and loses it all on cryptocurrencies. The video climaxes when he can't pay for food with a date and she has to pay for the food with fiat currency and then storms out of the scene.

Other videos from other YouTubers were also reportedly paid for. Poland's central bank has admitted to paying for a campaign against cryptocurrencies, but doesn't really add much more than that. This YouTubers' video description shows a hashtag pointing to a website created by Poland's central bank to warn citizens against cryptocurrencies.

The legality of the central bank's move is questionable, as in a democracy state organizations can't engage in propaganda.
