MSM working overtime trying to discredit recently released Jan 6th videos

I have seen a lot less of these videos than a lot of people have. I don't really pay much attention to politics if I can help it because although I disagree with a lot of the things that Trump said / says, I do believe he was correct when he said "the system is rigged." The stories and media that we end up with access to for the most part is not meant to inform, it is meant to deceive.

While there is a constant war going on between the right and left in politics, there is also a very obvious war that goes on between the media outlets that support either the right or the left. There is almost no honesty in anything that either side states and almost all of what they talk about is meant to brainwash and deceive the viewers. That being the case, I think that the fact that Fox is releasing CCTV footage of the storming of the Capitol building on January 6th, 2021, is a good thing since it was quite obvious in the past that the footage that we were granted access to was heavily censored.

The main things that I have seen from Tucker Carlson's specials on the footage has been of this guy, the Q-Anon Shaman whose real name is Jacob Chansley. The footage that Fox released shows him calmly walking around the interior of the Capitol building, not damaging anything, and being lead by security to certain areas and in one case even attempting to unlock a door for him to get further into the building. The footage seems very clear that this person, who is dressed like an idiot in an outfit that was always going to draw a lot of attention to him and make him easier to identify / arrest, didn't really cause anywhere near the amount of chaos that the media narrative up to this point was attempting to paint.

He is now serving time in jail for his participation in the "storming of the Capitol" and while I have my own reservations on whether or not he deserves to be in jail at all, the footage that we have been recently shown definitely sheds some light on how non-violent his involvement actually was. I think it is pretty easy to at least guess that it was because of his silly outfit and how he ended up being seen as a leader of the movement because of it, that the book was thrown at him a lot harder than it would have been had he just been wearing regular street clothes.

If you haven't seen the footage I am referring to, good for you on keeping out of politics. If you have seen it, you already know that the guy didn't do anything at all violent when he was inside nor did he damage anything. I have been on tours of the Capitol building when I was a child and I think I was more rambunctious than he was.

There is no doubt that the footage that is being shown by conservative outlets is being viewed a lot by the public and it certainly sheds more light on how the people inside the building's actions were misrepresented by the Jan 6th committee as well as the media. If this surprises anyone then I don't know what to tell you... you seriously have blinders on if you think our politicians and media are ever going to be truthful.

What is "dumb" about all of this is that the usual suspects like HuffPo, AP, NYT, CNN, and others are already working overtime to attempt to nitpick Carlson and Fox's use of the footage to attempt to show that Chansley as well as many other people languishing in prison, perhaps don't deserve to be there.

In the articles, such as this garbage partisan piece by AP they attempt to discredit the footage by simply taking certain words and "fact checking" those individual words rather than the story as a whole.

In the article which they refer to as "NOT REAL NEWS" because they don't want to say "fake news" since this is attributed to their dire enemy Donald Trump, they try to paint the Q-Anon Shaman as guilty and that Carlson's piece on him is untrue because he "entered the Capitol without permission, was repeatedly asked to leave the building and was not accompanied at all times."

Here's the dumb kicker though. The AP piece is attempting to state that Tucker Carlson said that he was allowed in, wasn't asked to leave, and was accompanied at all times. There's just one problem with this: Carlson never said these things, individual rather unknown Twitter account holders are the ones that said that.

Carlson, if you bother to watch the footage, simply makes the point that Chansley was accompanied by security at times and that he was peaceful and respectful of the building. He never said that Chansley was allowed to be there. The only reason why AP can event attempt to attribute this statement to Carlson and Fox is because the irrelevant Twitter user included a video clip from the Fox show.

This is of the many tricks that the media uses. They will take some anonymous online user's comment that references something else, then treat that opinion as if it was the original intention of the broadcast or news story that the anonymous person's Tweet is referencing.

It is easy to assume that in an attempt to discredit any competing networks' stories, that the opposing network could actually themselves be the ones that make the rather outrageous Tweets.

For me, I think the footage that is being released day-by-day of the Jan 6th events are very important for the public to see because it does in fact show that most of the people involved are guilty of little more than trespassing and that their long sentences in jail are simply political in nature. I'm not going to watch all of Carlson's reports on this because I believe that Fox is only marginally less dirty than the other networks out there.

The dumb part of all of this is that the opposing media outlets are working as hard as they can and being as deceptive as possible in order to attempt to make the release of this footage become irrelevant.

Of course none of this really matters because the political lines are drawn in the USA and that isn't going to change. I honestly believe that some people are so deeply entrenched in their political hatred of the other side that they could be shown irrefutable proof that their side is wrong and they would STILL stick with them out of the manufactured spite that has been built up in their minds over the past years.
