The Hangzhou Court is one of the first instances in China that handles cases and resolves issues of intellectual property related to the Internet exclusively online. It was established in August 2017.

The media company Huatai Yimei has filed a complaint against the company from Zhenshen due to the copyright violation.

The company has claimed that their images, web pages and text were used illegally. So they provided the evidence that was stored on the platform that is based on blockchain technology, it is called Baoquan.com.

The judge commented on this case: The court considers that it must maintain an open and neutral position on the use of blockchain for the analysis of individual cases. We can not abandon it only because it is a complex technology. We also can not simplify the standard just because it is protected from unauthorized access.

As a result, the decision that was made by the judge turned out in favor of the plaintiff. It is the perfect example of how blockchain is slowly getting excepted by the traditional judiciary system.
