Chinese government strengthens its control over the Internet

Brutal methods

One of the most frequent jokes of the moment on WeChat is a false advertisement for an insurance of 250 yuan (32 euros), intended for moderators of newsgroups on the application. The announcement, which shows workers in dungarees in the style of Maoist serigraphs, promises 20,000 yuan (2,500 euros) of aid in the event of arrest, the "competition of an excellent lawyer" and 1,000 yuan (130 euros) per day of detention, "which allows you to earn money in prison". More than 1 million yuan (130,000 euros) in the event of death or disability during incarceration - allusion to the brutal methods of the political police.
