Russian MoD makes surprise visit to Syria to send Assad message from Putin

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus on Tuesday, for talks on the fight against militancy and the situation in the region in general. Turkish military conducts patrol alongside HTS in southern Idlib (video)

BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:20 P.M.) - On Tuesday, the Turkish military conducted their 5th patrol of the year across the demilitarized zone in southern Idlib and northern Hama. According to reports, the Turkish military patrolled from the town of Morek in northern Hama to the large city of Ma'arat Al-Nu'man in southern Idlib. The Turkish military was reportedly escorted by members of Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham, who is the largest jihadist group currently operating inside of northern Syria. According to Hezbollah's media activists, Mohammad Masarah was reported killed-in-action (KIA) after his unit came under attack near the border city of Albukamal in eastern Deir Ezzor.
