Russian Air Force unleashes massive attack in eastern Syria

BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:45 P.M.) - The Russian Air Force unleashed a massive assault in eastern Syria, tonight, a military source told Al-Masdar News.

According to the source, at least five Russian warplanes hammered the Islamic State's (ISIS) positions in the Badiya Al-Sham region of Deir Ezzor and Al-Safa Hills of Al-Sweida.

The Russian airstrikes were launched in coordination with the Syrian Arab Army's renewed offensives in both the Badiya Al-Sham and Al-Safa Hills.

Earlier today, a military source told Al-Masdar that the Russian Air Force had shifted their attention from the Idlib Governorate to eastern Syria.

This move comes as the Russian and Turkish governments attempt to achieve a peaceful settlement on the fate of the Idlib Governorate.
