Israeli tanks deployed near Gaza border as tensions escalate (video)

BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:40 P.M.) -The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) deployed additional forces close to the border of the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, near the village of Kissufim.

Merkava IV main battle tanks as well as M113 armoured personnel carriers were seen in the area.

Fighting has escalated between Israeli forces and militants in Gaza following an Israeli raid on Sunday that left seven Palestinians and one IDF officer dead.

In response to this Hamas has reportedly carried out over 300 rocket attacks in the past two days and the Israeli Air Force has in return launched a number of airstrikes across Gaza, allegedly levelling several buildings in the process.
