Late night show host Jimmy Kimmel has been engaging in talks with Democrat Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer in an effort to better rail against the ongoing efforts by the GOP to pass a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare.

According to sources familiar with their conversations that spoke to The Daily Beast, the office of Senator Chuck Schumer has provided Kimmel technical guidance and info, as well as stats from various think tanks and experts on the effects of the Graham-Cassidy ObamaCare repeal and replace bill that is currently under the bipartisan microscope.

Kimmel most notably addressed health care on his show in May, when he revealed to his audience that his infant son had been born with a congenital heart disease. He called on lawmakers to ensure that people with pre-existing conditions could obtain affordable health insurance.

According to the Beast’s sources, Schumer had given Kimmel “encouragement” to speak out against the GOP’s efforts.

The Senator and late night host have been in periodic talks over the past few months while jabs at Obama Care were trying to go through the legislature. Talks between the two have recently continued as the Graham-Cassidy bill began to move ahead.

“It’s part of that continued conversation,” a source said.

“We’ve heard from and spoken to a lot of people, including Senator Schumer and the many charities and healthcare organizations that oppose this monstrous bill,” another source from Jimmy Kimmel Live! told The Daily Beast.

This is just another great example of the liberal establishment and mainstream media using its influence to interject its thought into the psyche of the American people.

One of the main architects behind the current repeal and replace effort, Senator Bill Cassidy (R-La.), previously said that any bill going after Obama Care would have to pass the “Jimmel Kimmel test.” The senator words followed the May episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live where its host defended those with preexisting conditions.

Kimmel is apparently under the impression that the Graham-Cassidy bill will not live up to his standards (remember his impressions are being molded by the flaming leftist Schumer) because he bad-mouthed Cassidy on his Tuesday airing, saying the Senator lied to his face.

“This guy, Bill Cassidy, just lied right to my face,” Kimmel said, airing a clip of his May interview with the senator. “Stop using my name,” he said towards Cassidy.

Cassidy hit back at Kimmel, telling Fox & Friends that “Jimmy doesn’t understand, and not because he’s a talk show host, because we’ve never spoken.”

Cassidy would say on Wednesday that the current repeal and replace bill does exactly what Kimmel asked for in May.

“It gives billions to states like Maine, Virginia and Missouri — that their states don’t have right now — that those lower-income families can have access to insurance and care for their pre-existing — he just doesn’t understand that,” Cassidy said. “And I say that not to provoke, but just to actually ask for him to at least consider those families in Maine, Virginia and Missouri.”

The Cassidy sponsored bill seeks to give more power to the states by ending federal ObamaCare insurance subsidies and the Medicaid expansion and replacing them with block grants to the states.

As it currently stands, the efforts to pass the repeal and replace measure are backed into a corner as some members of the Republican party are refusing to jump on board with the initiative. Those members include Rand Paul, John McCain, and Susan Collins.

The efforts between Kimmel and Schumer to derail the Republican attack on Obama Care drives home the fact that late night television has become a political weapon.
