US To Drop All Sanctions On Iran?

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani announced that Donald Trump agreed to drop all sanctions if they would accept negotiations. Is this true? The aftermath of this announcement was a drop in oil. WTI crude futures were last down by 1.1% to $55.78 after falling as low as $54.79. Brent crude futures dropped 1.8% to $61.62.

“The German chancellor, the prime minister of England (Britain) and the president of France were in New York and all insisted that this meeting take place. And America says that it will lift the sanctions,” Rouhani said on his official website, according to Reuters. “It was up for debate what sanctions will be lifted and they (the United States) had said clearly that we will lift all sanctions.”

Is there truth to this? Donald Trump says absolutely not.

So what is Iran trying to gain from this outright lie? Do they think other world leaders will convince Trump to do this considering how much oil is just sitting in ports due to the sanctions? Will Trump do anything else because of this lie? What are your thoughts?
