Achievement 2 @sublime92 Task: Basic Security on Steem

Dear People of Steem, Here is what have learned so far about the basic security on steem.

At the time I created my steemit account I got a pdf document consisting of all several keys which include (the posting key, Active key, Owner Key, and Memo key). After this, I opened keys and permissions under my wallet to confirm the keys on the pdf document are the same as the ones in my wallet, thanks to @seesladen for guiding me through the process.

I'm well informed of the functions and restrictions of my steemit keys,

Posting Key: Aside from being the login key, it's the key that performs the basics of growing your account and getting you immensely engaged in the steemit social activities like, commenting on posts, voting, resteeming and following or muting other users.

Active Key: This is used for a more private activity like updating profile details and wallet and all wallet-related activities which include Fund transfer, Power up/down of steem power, converting steem dollars, and for voting witness.

Owner Key: This is described as the most powerful key because it can be used to change all other keys even the owner key. This key should be kept very safe, adviseably offline because being careless with this key is like going on a holiday/vacation with the door of your apartment wide open, imagine what may happen to it before your return.

Anyone with access to your owner can control your account. The owner key should only be used when necessary (i.e to recover a compromised account).

Memo Key: This key is used to decrypt & encrypt memos when transferring funds.

HOW TO KEEP YOUR KEYS SAFE
Keeping master or every other steemit keys safe is of utmost importance, because the keys are confidential and getting leaked may mean that someone else will take total control of your account. Also losing this keys means you'll totally lose your account with the funds in it. for safety sake I've written my master key, owner key and every other keys in my diary and it's locked up in my secret box.

HOW TO TRANSFER STEEM TOKEN TO OTHER USER
I've also learned how to transfer steem token to other steem users, the steps are;
*firstly, click on the wallet at the top right corner

*click the dropdown arrow beside the steem balance then click on transfer

• input recipient username and the amount to be transferred.

• Finally click on the "next" bottom. You'll be asked to confirm the transaction, just click okay to confirm

HOW TO POWER UP/POWER DOWN STEEM
To power up Steem, simply go to wallet then click on the drop-down arrow beside the steem balance.

Then scroll down to power up and click on it,

then input the amount of steem you'd like to power up and click on the power-up button.

To power down is a similar process just that this time after opening your wallet you'd click on the arrow beside the steem power balance,

then click on power down,

after this, you'd be prompted to input the amount of steem power to power down. once this is done click on the power down bottom and you're done.
