[First post] Are light posts not worth it?

in #newbie6 years ago (edited)

Hello, greetings from Korea! (fyi i am from south.. thank god)

i have been using steemit for about just over 2 months and this is the first time i'm writing anything.

while i used this new type of platform, i got attached to it and wanted to share my thoughts as well

but i was kind of afraid writing here.. why did it take so much time to have courage enough to write?

Trait of Steemit platform

The main reason why i was impressed with steemit is because there were so many quality articles here that you wouldn't find somewhere else. and those quality posts were a big help for a crypto newbie like me.

But ironically, i think this flood of quality posts could be hindrance to steemit becoming major.

it is always right to have quality posts and let people get rewarded for it. but this makes people feel bad or hesitant to write about stuffs that are 'not as important'.

For a platform like this to prosper, it inevitably has to have more and more people using it. but since this platform was made on the basis of crypto articles, many of the posts as well are about crypto.

a person like me, who only started trading a few months ago (and i personally have not much knowledge about computers alike), there are actually not much (if there's any) quality things to share about crypto.

And even if one might say 'then share something that you are good at' but sadly many people including me, might not have that something. yes i am good at some stuffs but some of the things that cannot be shared on internet and some things i am not good enough to teach .

eventually, having this atmosphere of 'you-have-to-write-something-that-enlightens-people-write-quality-stuffs-for-an-upvote' makes people hesitant to become an active user.

So what?

I am not undermining people who write very good stuffs which takes a lot of effort.

i am just saying for steemit to be sustainable and to prosper, we do need more light posts. little inflow of users makes a platform rot and become just a community for only a few group of people.

if we get to share more light stuffs like daily activities, some random thoughts or even silly jokes then we would have more vigorous and active platform.

(but i do acknowledge that something needs to be done about that 'Time FEED' because right now if there are too many posts then it is really hard to track the article that i want to read.. since it is still beta-version, i hope it changes for better)

About my project

From today, i will be writing weekly 'legends-of-HODLing' posts. (yes it will be a LIGHT one. and yes i will be sharing my thoughts and give info about whats going on with coins that i am HODLing in my portfolio but it WON'T be a detailed analysis.. )

and whenever i have thought, events or anything, i will be sharing those LIGHT stuffs as well.

i do hope my LIGHT posting would give some courage to people who are only reading and not writing because they are afraid..
