Designated Survivor - one of my favorite TV series!
I wrote quite a lot of articles about Designated last year, and on several lists, I mentioned it as one of my favorite TV series. But, then came the waiting time for the second season, and for some reason, I never got started with the second season, until a few days ago!
What is Designated Survivor about?
Designated Survivor tells the story of Thomas Kirkman, a politician who becomes the only survivor after a terrorist attack on the Congress building. This makes him President of the United States, but with a lot of enemies and people considering him to be far from suitable for the job.

Jack Bauer is now President Kirkman
Thomas Kirkman is played by Kiefer Sutherland. In other words, instead of playing the role as Jack Bauer in 24, you can now watch Kiefer Sutherland in the role of President Kirkman in Designated Survivor. The truth is, however, that you get a tiny part of 24 in Designated Survivor as well. It isn't only a political series, but here they have to deal with terrorists (those who made the attack on Congress), and they have to deal with threats of all sorts.
And it is this sweet mixture of politics, action, and private struggles that makes Designated Survivor so great. It is a constant tension to the series, and it makes you want to watch one more episodes all the time, simply to find out what will happen and how the problem will be solved.
The second season of Designated Survivor
I recently got started on the second season of Designated Survivor, and it is just as great as the first season. President Kirkman has now been president for a year, but there are still struggles of all kinds, and he has to fight for his presidency. Some new characters are also introduced in this season, making it more amusing and more interesting to watch.

Designated Survivor on Netflix
The first two seasons can be seen on Netflix all across the world (with a few exceptions). The third season will be released in 2019, and this will be a 100% Netflix original, making it available in all Netflix regions all across the globe.

I've thought about starting to see this series, although I've never really prioritized it, I've always put other series ahead, however, I plan to see it at a certain moment, I like the series on politics, I saw the first season of House of Card British version, and then I've seen the American version, but this last series has now undergone some changes and comes to an end, so there is a place to be occupied by another series that covers this topic, right now I'm deciding for The West Wing and The man in the high castle, I guess I'll add Designated Survivor to the list, and I'll decide later on one of the three.
